Situation

The client is a leading taxi-aggregator in the state of Tamil Nadu and enjoys excellent customer patronage. The client aims to use technology, innovative offerings and better customer service to further expand its reach to rest of India. The company had invested all their equity, exhausted Debt option and was thus unable to initiate the plan due to insufficiency of funds. There was no bandwidth and the know how to strategize growth, create an IM and reach out to the right investors.

Corrective Action

Ma Foi conducted diagnostic study to understand the organization, its ethos, its business model, equity requirement and the market. Ma Foi then crafted a comprehensive Information Memorandum that covered  – (a) Extensive mapping of the Indian and Global markets; (b) Demand for product, the corresponding price and the competition; (c) Equity requirement and evaluation of various investment structures; (d)  Product Market entry strategy with a detailed execution plan; and (e) Ascertained valuations, financial projections and exit route.

In the next phase, Ma Foi Identified and created a list of potential investors who had previously invested in similar industries, organized meetings between promoter and investors, explained the investment opportunity and handled investor queries, and framed key components of deal structure that included equity dilution/exit and Terms of investment.

Result

Ma Foi evaluated the client’s equity requirements and created an impeccable Information Memorandum. The Client mid-way changed focus and decided to seek options to sell out and exit the business.

Our extensive investor network helped in reaching out to over 50 potential investors/buyers and advanced discussions with two investors.
